The lumber yard subsides as the whiskey opens, leveling off to reveal earthy notes of cigar box, wet tobacco, and cocoa powder, along with a touch of butterscotch pudding. Classic Knob Creek flavors of caramel, toffee, vanilla, baked berry and orchard fruit. With extra time in wood, this 12 year old shows the benefits of extra aging. Rich flavors of oak appear in the form of clove and anise. A wonderful Bourbon showing balance and grace. The finish is long and exciting with notes of caramel sauce and warm baking spices.
