Good full red. Nose initially dominated by chocolatey oak, with dark cherry and mocha emerging with aeration. Began a bit dry and ponderous, with dominant brown spices, but time in the glass brought brighter and much juicier flavors of raspberry, bitter cherry and dark chocolate. Ultimately lighter on its feet than the Las Alturas bottling, but the broad, dusty tannins call for food.
